Our Story

Abide Home Furnishings is more than a furniture store. It's something we're building together as a family.

Our journey began in 2021, selling baby items on Facebook Marketplace. What started as a way to earn a little extra income quickly grew into something we never could have imagined.

As time went on, we began selling larger liquidation items, primarily side chairs. Demand continued to grow, and what started in our two-bedroom apartment eventually expanded into truckloads of furniture across 11 storage units.

The best part wasn't how much the business grew. It was doing it together. We discovered how much we enjoyed working side by side, not only as husband and wife but also as business partners. Along the way, we had the privilege of serving a number of local customers throughout Southwest Michigan who appreciated honest communication, fair pricing, and personal service. Those years reminded us that what we enjoyed most wasn't simply selling furniture. It was helping people create homes they love.

Eventually, we were led in a different direction, but we always found ourselves coming back to furniture. It's something we've genuinely enjoyed, and we were grateful for the opportunity to build something together again. Abide Home Furnishings brings together our years of experience, our love for quality home furnishings, and our desire to serve families throughout Kalamazoo and Southwest Michigan.

Today, we proudly offer carefully selected living room furniture, sectionals, sofas, loveseats, bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, lift chairs, and home décor to customers across Southwest Michigan. Rather than operating a traditional retail showroom, we've chosen an online, appointment-based model that allows us to keep overhead low, offer competitive pricing, and provide a more personal shopping experience.
